I'm going to write a series of tutorials on a java-based mmorpg server emulator which help demystify the "game" part of it and examine it more as just a technical program. I put some heart into the article and I was wondering what you thought. You guys don't have to do anything with the code or the repository, I'm not trying to plug or advertise the emulator. Blame the brazilians not the emulator developers. I wrote an article analyzing the code, not as specifically a java program or a game engine, but really how I would go about thinking about where to start on such a thing of this size.I thought it might be generally kind of relevant as how to think about these things.įor the guys that know l2j and it's bad wrap, I get it, and I've also seen some awesome projects created with it. I wanted to do something to maybe help inject a bit of a better insight in their community. The content is mostly the same old things over and over. ![]() ![]() Unforunately the development community is packed to the brim with dipshit assholes. The game is Lineage 2 and I really enjoyed my experience while playing it, included was poking around the server emulators and playing on private servers with people who one day became my real friends that I traveled to Europe for. They keep their latest one to themselves, which is cool whatever. ![]() I decided to try to do a nice deed and help a server emulator fork for a reverse engineered game client by hosting a mirror of their latest public trunk which they release currently in a zip file.
